Breast Augmentation
At Dorsia, we have a special name for breast augmentation surgery: Wonderbreast. What is different about our technique? We use special techniques to reduce the risk of capsular contracture and post operative pain. We study the incidence of capsular contracture with new anti-bacterial wash techniques. Furthermore, we continuously carry out psychological studies about how our breast augmentation patients’ lives have improved… because we know that life does change, women can happily enjoy their new “me.”
Treatment
Attaining natural, firm, beautiful breasts is the objective of this individualized procedure. At Dorsia Clinics we understand the importance of this decision in a woman’s life and because of this, our team is made up of cosmetic advisors, responsible for monitoring our patients, and plastic surgeons belonging to the SECPRE (Spanish Society of Reconstructive and Cosmetic Plastic Surgery) that inform and advise every woman individually. The size and shape of the patient’s breasts before intervention, as well as their wishes, are fundamental when deciding on the type of surgery and implant most appropriate for each patient.
Indications
Any healthy, of age woman who wants to increase the size of her breasts to improve her silhouette.
Procedure
Breast augmentation is realized by introducing an implant through a small incision, which is designed to be almost invisible after surgery. The incision can be periareolar, transaxillary or inframammary depending on each individual case. The surgeon places the implant at the sub glandular, sub facial or sub pectoral level depending on the woman’s natural breast position. The procedure lasts less than 2 hours and although it is still normal for the woman to stay at the hospital overnight, the growing trend, now and in the future, is to use less anesthetic and release the patient on the day of surgery.
Complications
The most significant complication is capsular contracture, although the percentage is decreasing thanks to the new surgical techniques and high quality implants that are being used today. At Dorsia Clinics “recovery” treatment is always included in the weeks that follow breast augmentation surgery. This treatment consists in a combination of special anti-contracture massages and the application of ultrasounds that help to avoid the formation of excessive fibrosis around the implant.
